Description

Mental Health First Aid is an 8-hour course that teaches you how to help someone who is developing a mental health problem or is experiencing a mental health crisis. The training helps you identify, understand and respond to signs of addiction and mental illness. Join us for this training session at St. Paul Catholic Church Gathering Space on March 30 and 31 from 8 am until 12 pm. Doors open at 7:30 am and breakfast will be included. This event is open to the public at no cost, but make sure to sign up by March 17.

Attendees of this training will be able to identify:

  • Risk factors and warning signs of mental health problems
  • Information on depression anxiety, trauma, psychosis and addiction disorders
  • A 5-step action plan to help someone who is developing a mental health problem or is in crisis
  • Where to turn for help for professional, peer or self-help resources

Lauren Robinson, LPCC-S and Jessica Richards, LISW-S from Firelands Counseling & Recovery will be leading the training session. Registration is required by March 17 by calling 419-663-3737.
